What is the Fella’s Family Project?

The Fella’s Family Project employs a male Support Worker and a male Family Worker and covers the Ballina and Byron local government area.

The aim of the Fella’s Family Project is to strengthen parenting and relationship skills for fathers and expectant fathers, and to strengthen self esteem and relationship skills for boys 11-16

The Family Worker provides support to fathersWhat we can assist you with?

The Family Worker provides support to fathers through

  • Home visits for one to one support
  • Parenting programs, support groups
  • Information, advocacy and referral

The Support Worker provides support to boys aged 11-16 through

  • Mentoring and one to one support
  • Individual/group programs and activities
  • Information, advocacy and referral
  • Links to community activities and social clubs
  • Recreational and leisure based activities

How to become a client?

Referrals to the Fella’s Family Project can be made by any service provider, government or non government agency or family member/friend. Families or individuals can also self refer.

Referrals made on behalf of families or individuals will only be accepted if the families/individuals are aware of the referral and are willing to take up the referral.
